Vibration of stillness

I have always been curious about the question: if a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?  I honestly never understood this question and maybe not for the reasons one might think.

We have a linear view of the world of sound.  Such that if no one is there, then it does not exist.  In a world filled with the selfish need to be seen and heard we offer little to the notion that we already are.  We give away our experience to what others tell us to believe or know and at the same time, if we did not have a direct experience of something, then it did not happen.  This is a curious conundrum.

Consider this: Sound as a vibration is felt and travels across and through time and space. Sound itself is alive.  Contemplation can offer us a doorway into this.  The vibration of stillness always speaks if we are willing to listen.

A reflective prompt to journal about or to explore in nature.   What am I now willing to hear?
